What is Reiki?

Once completely unknown Reiki has become one of the most respected forms of healing in Western Medicine and many hospitals now post in patient’s rooms “If you want Reiki let them know at the nurse’s station.”

Reiki is a gentle, hands on energy healing modality that is non-invasive and has no side effects. It is a system for learning how to tap into Universal Life Force Energy also known as “Chi”, the energy that creates and sustains all life forms. When this energy is in perfect balance we experience peace on a mental, physical and spiritual level.

Through what is known as an attunement process done by a Reiki Master, your vibrational level is raised and allows you to bring Universal Life Force Energy into the Human Energy Field. Reiki is about meditation and self- realization and the intention to bring the Highest Healing Good to all living things without reservation or judgment.

However you choose to incorporate Reiki into your daily life, you will feel that you are living your life with usefulness and purpose.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is the ability to connect with Universal Life Force Energy and bring it into the human energy field. When you become attuned by a Reiki Master, you become the conduit of this energy so that when you put your hands on yourself or on another person a healing will occur.

How do I learn to do this?

Reiki is taught by a Reiki Master. This class will enable you to become attuned and certified in Reiki so that not only will you learn how to perform Reiki on yourself and others but you can take this certification and work as a Reiki Practitioner in a hospital, nursing home, hospice, day care, etc.

How long will it take?

There are two levels of Reiki that allow you to become a Reiki Practitioner. The classes for Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 are usually taught over a weekend with one class each day. After the second class you will receive your certifications. After 6 months to a year you are eligible to take the Reiki Master Class. There are also Healing Circles and workshops once a month where you can come practice and learn about different modalities of healing.

Who will be teaching?

Through Universal Healing Arts Connection the Reiki Master who teaches this course is Shima Chayvet. Shima has been a Reiki Master since 2006 and studied and was attuned by Libby Barnett who studied and was attuned to become a Reiki Master from one of the original 22 Reiki Masters that were attuned in the US in 1973. This is a rare close connection to the origin of Reiki.
